http://www.AliveAir.com 5 things air purifier companies don’t watch you to know. Presented by aliveair.com that’s me. The purpose of this video is to save $ and help you find the right air purifier by avoiding 5 things air purifier companies don’t want you to know. Before I cover 5 things an overview -most air purifier tech is 40 years. Most consumer reports unaware of tech matches their needs. Most get the wrong air purifier technology. #1 non filter replacement air purifiers don’t work well. if you’ve ever seen a hepa filter – looks like a cloth fabric filter – comes in different sizes and shapes. Unfortunately the Air purifiers w/o hepa filters don’t work that well. So get an air purifier that has an affordable hepa replacement filters especially if you have allergies or asthma.
#2 – HEPA replacement filters are overpriced. In Japan manufacturers include extra filters inside every air purifier box .Japanese demand it. They think ahead. Americans don’t really think that way and manufacturers overcharge for heap filters. Once you buy the air purifier you’re stuck paying for whatever they want to charge for hepa filters. The remedy is check the replacement costs. Anything over $50 for a hepa replacement filter – you’re really paying too much.
#3 Fanless air purifiers. They don’t do a good job.
Remedy – brushless motors are generally the quietest.
#4 Most generally won’t do the square footage listed in the box. First of all the square footage is based on an empty room so having furniture and stuff generally means it’s less than what’s on the box. What you want to do is find one that does for 2-4 times per hour – especially if you have asthma or allergies.
#5 Avoid infomercial air purifiers. I realize I’m making a blanket statement but having worked and done infomercials I know usually you look they look for 7 to 8 I’m markup over their cost of the product. Because of that they tend to leave things out like UV and they tend to leave out hepa filters because well they’re not that expensive but it’s enough that they can’t make the kind of profit they want to make in an infomercial. So just avoid the ones you see on TV all together, they usually don’t have a lot of Technology. What I would look for is look for one that has four to five technologies. look for maybe hepa air purifier first, UV second, and then ion, and carbon etc. On the next video I’ll actually go over some of the different types of filter depending on what you’re looking for. I’d probably shop online when you find a unit that you like you can shop around to get the best price you can probably expect to pay anywhere from 3 to even five hundred dollars.
Last online than you would by buying an infomercial and I probably look for a 3 year warranty. now if you want to what technology kind of matches your needs here are some general guidelines: pre-filter for allergies and asthma. Carbon charcoal ozone for odors. ozone is the best for odors but you just don’t want a low level of ozone and on/off switch on ozone. It’s great for animal smells, chemical sensitivity, etc. and then UV plus tio2, plasma ceramic and that’s good for any kind of pathogens cold viruses flu bacteria and also for some orders as well but the great thing is now you can actually buy ones that have all this together. You might want to check out my other videos ‘best purifiers for allergies and asthma how to get the right technology. What I recommend is the airpod alive air purifier – it’s a nine stage air purifier. It has the smart sensors from Japan. it’s twice the technology for half the price of a lot of the ones on the market. If you mention the air purifier guide at their website you might save a hundred dollars and pay two hundred ninety nine dollars for one of the state art air purifiers. So thanks for watching the video and hope this helps.
